Lost Vote?

I received an email on Friday from a gentleman who is in an interesting situation. You see, this guy requested an absentee ballot. He received it from the Board of Elections, marked his choices and cast his votes - including a vote for Tom Perez in the Attorney General's race. This all happened before the court ruling that removed Perez from the ballot.

So, the question is, what happens to his vote? Is it simply lost or discarded? Is he able to re-vote? I've got a call in to the elections folks to see what the deal is, since I imagine this will not be the only such ballot. Stay tuned....
