Texas Governor Endorses Giuliani

Governor Rick Perry of Texas announced on Fox News this morning that he is endorsing former New York City Mayor Rudy Giuliani for President. Perry's statement makes him the first sitting governor to endorse a Republican candidate in the race. When asked if he would consider running as Giuliani's vice-presidential running mate, Perry demurred and said he plans to serve out the remaining 3 years of his term as governor.

According to Fox, Senator John McCain current leads Republican polls in Texas, though by a slim 4 point margin. We'll have to wait and see if today's endorsement upsets that lead.
