Planning Montgomery County

It seems the folks over at Park and Planning, having held a couple "community sessions" earlier this year, have decided a blog might be just the thing to "expand the community discussions to include all Montgomery County citizens." Thus began the Planning Montgomery County blog.

Cool!

Yeah, yeah... a blog is certainly not going to reach all MoCo citizens. Realistically? At this point it would only reach a very small (albeit growing) minority. Still, it provides another avenue of community input into the planning process. And, well, that has to be a good thing doesn't it?

However, I do have a complaint about how they've set it up. Their intention seems to have been to create a static page with three entries (subjects) on which readers can then comment for a specified period of time (until October 1 according to the site). I'd like to see more dynamic content on a variety of development/planning issues.

Anyway, there you have it. Check out Planning Montgomery County and give 'em an ear full.

BTW - What do you think of the whole idea of a government blog in the first place?
